Background & Experience

Scott Johnson brings to NAI North Star a distinguished background in real-estate finance, accounting, and capital markets with over 15 years of public accounting and advisory experience serving developers, REITs, property managers, and private investors.

In his new role as Chief Development Officer and President of Capital Markets, Scott will leverage his deep expertise in tax strategy, entity structuring, acquisitions and dispositions, and complex transaction advisory to support clients across a wide array of asset classes — from commercial and industrial to multifamily and development land.

Scott earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of St. Thomas and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Known for his strategic mindset and analytical rigor, Scott has successfully navigated clients through highly structured investment transactions, tax-efficient ownership models, and capital deployment strategies — always with a commitment to minimizing liability and maximizing long-term value.
